A woman named Monira Akhter held a press conference in Rajpat Union of Kashiani Upazila of Gopalganj to protest against her name being included in the political party committee without her knowledge. She made this protest at a press conference on Friday afternoon.In a written statement at the press conference, Monira Akhter alleged that she was made the 'Health and Population Affairs Secretary' in the Rajpat Ward 5 Awami League full committee announced in 2015. But she was completely in the dark about this for 11 years. She was surprised to see the matter recently on social media.Monira Akhter said, 'Even though my name was in the 2015 committee, why was it kept secret for 11 years? It is a deep political conspiracy that came to light in 2026. This attempt has been made to embarrass me socially.'In her written statement, the woman also mentioned that although her name is 'Monira Akhter' according to the National Identity Card (NID), her nickname 'Sathi' has been used in the controversial list. It is extremely irresponsible of the committee to do this without verifying the identity.Regarding her political position, Monira Akhter said, "I am not involved in any political activities of the Awami League and have never attended any meeting of the party. It is a gross violation of civil rights and personal freedom to appoint me to a position without my permission."At the press conference, Monira Akhter officially announced her separation from the committee. She strongly demanded that her name be removed from the list immediately. Otherwise, she warned that she would take legal action to protect her honor.
